Listeria can be a very serious problem. In June, Alfredo Fettuccine chicken meals sold to Kroger and Walmart were recalled after 17 people fell ill and 3 people were actually died, according to NPR. It turned out that they were contaminated by Listeria. A woman has also lost a fetus, which is why pregnant people are advised to be particularly alert when listing on Listeria occur.
Experts have expressed their concern about Trump diet for American food security monitoring programs in recent months. The CDC has discreetly reduced the Active (or Foodnet) surveillance network, which follows food diseases of food origin, according to a surprising report by the New York Times. And one of the concerns is that most people will not really notice the change before it is too late. In a country of more than 330 million people, a handful of people dying of a given epidemic are barely noted. But if food security regulators do not have data to identify an epidemic, these death sleeves can develop unnecessarily.
