95 sick people, 18 hospitalized after eating these recalled eggs

The CDC and the FDA published a reminder notice on Thursday, warning consumers of brown eggs who were linked to a salmonella epidemic in 14 states. The eggs, coming from the campaign eggs of Lucerne Valley, California, overthrew at least 95 people and hospitalized 18. No death was reported.
Cage -free eggs have been sold under brand names that include Nagatoshi Produce, Misuho, Nijiya Markets and Country Eggs, according to an opinion published by the CDC.
- Code on Cardboard: No. CA-7695
- Sell by dates from July 1, 2025 to September 18, 2025
The eggs were also sold using the description of the yellow “Sunshine / Omega-3 Golden” (1/15 dozen fresh eggs) to food services retailers with the same codes and the sales dates listed above, according to the FDA. Consumers are encouraged to throw away all the eggs recalled.
The CDC provided a card showing the 14 states where they have identified diseases of the Salmonella epidemic.

States, as well as the number of cases:
- Arizona (1 case)
- California (73 cases)
- Florida (1 case)
- Georgia (1 case)
- Hawaii (1 case)
- Iowa (1 case)
- Minnesota (4 cases)
- Nebraska (1 case)
- Nevada (3 cases)
- New Mexico (1 case)
- New York (2 cases)
- North Carolina (2 cases)
- Pennsylvania (1 case)
- Washington (3 cases)
The CDC notes that the actual number of people with this epidemic is probably much higher than the number that the agency points out, because most people who fall sick do not need medical care and are never tested for Salmonella.
People who fell ill from this epidemic ranges from 1 to 91, with a median age of 29 years. Fifty-five percent were identified as a woman, with 45% of those who fell ill.
The CDC also includes racial ventilation for those who fell ill, with 62% white, 37% Asian and 1% black. Twenty-four percent are identified as Hispanic, while 76% are non-Hispanic, according to ethnic data published by the CDC.
Public health investigators use a system called Pulsenet to identify diseases that could be part of this epidemic. The Pulsenet of the CDC includes a national database of “DNA DNA fingerprints of bacteria” which allows researchers to follow bacteria using the sequencing of the whole genome (WGS).
From the CDC website:
WGS have shown that bacteria of patient samples are closely linked genetically. This suggests that the people of this epidemic fell ill from the same food.
Based on WGS analysis, bacteria of 94 samples of people had predicted resistance to nalidixic acid and non-souhaity at ciprofloxacin (NSC); This NSC strain is linked to a strain of Salmonella Enthetidis isolated from chicken, eggs and backyard poultry. Most people with Salmonella The disease is recovered without antibiotics. However, if antibiotics are necessary, certain diseases of this epidemic may not be treatable with certain antibiotics commonly recommended and may require a different antibiotic choice. More information is available on the national site of the antimicrobial resistance monitoring system (NARMS).
The FDA led the traceback as a function of the place where the patients declared to shop or eat eggs and dishes containing eggs during the period of interest. Country Eggs, LLC has been identified as a common supplier.
Quite neat, when you think about it. Too bad the Trump diet does everything it can to destroy the agency. Hoping that CDC people will be able to continue doing their important job now and in the future.
