As far as I know, spending more than one hundred billion dollars to build a giant protective “dome” guided by missiles that will probably never work, it is not something that many Americans have ever asked the government to do. However, Trump has made it a duty to do this exactly.

In January, Trump initially announced the “gold dome”, a project to protect Americans from the “threat of attack by ballistic, hypersonic and cruise missiles, and other advanced air attacks”. The project, which aims to use a network of satellites to detect and repel air attacks against our homeland, was announced via a decree.

CNN now reports that sources close to the government say that the Ministry of Defense could be able to test the satellite guided security system from three years. The written point of sale:

The Pentagon has scheduled its first major test of the anti-missile defense system of the golden dome of several billion dollars for the 2028 elections, according to two familiar sources with the issue, establishing an aggressive deadline for military officials to prove that they can transform the vision of President Donald Trump for a space shield that can protect all of the United States in reality …

… The MDA (Military Defense Agency) plans to call the FTI-X test, said the defense manager. “FTI” means the integrated flight test, indicating that the test will involve the many Golden Dome weapons sensors and systems working together to start several targets.

The Golden Dome obviously resembles Iron Dome of Israel – which, in addition to sharing a similar name, also benefits from the common denominator from having been built with money from American taxpayers (the Israel security system has experienced at least $ 1.6 billion in “support” development from America, although the country has benefited from billion dollars of defense missile). But as Gizmodo reported it in April, the challenges of deploying a protective shield on a country in the size of the United States are much more intimidating than those of Israel protection. And unlike the defenses against the rocket attacks that the Iron Dome provides, Trump’s decree requires protection against “ballistic, hypersonic and advanced cruise missiles and other new generation air attacks”. Experts told Gizmodo that this directive is equivalent to “trying to shoot a ball with a ball”, and while engineers work on the Dome Dome, even more advanced weapons will be developed.

Many conservative voices have applauded Trump’s security initiative. Indeed, the heritage foundation, of which 2025 project No doubt guided a large part of political decision -making in the second Trump administration, argued for a modernized defense system. Citing American enemies (North Korea, Iran, China and Russia) as potential danger sources, the organization recently argued that the United States should “change the way it approaches missile defenses” and that the “next MDR should examine the evolving security environment and identify the requirements of appropriate missile defense architecture for the next 30 years at 40 years.” After Trump’s announcement by the Golden Dome Project, the Org also wrote a blog supporting the effort.

Although everything that sounds great for the first Conservatives of America, the laws of physics do not have political persuasion and could prove an intimidating adversary for the Trump administration.
