Since Alcaraz joined the ATP tour at the age of 16, he was greeted for the variety of his game, being able to combine the cut of low slices with ferocious right and disguised shots to regularly catch opponents off guard and earn breath.

But its ability to assemble this kind of versatile quality on any surface is what already distinguishes it from anyone.

Alcaraz has now won two Grand Slam over each of the hard surfaces, grass and clay – only Rafael Nadal (age of 24), Mats Wilander (24) and Novak Djokovic (34), have already reached the same feat in the male game.

The speed at which Alcaraz accumulates the majors is also surprising – he only took 19 tournaments to win six slams, second just behind the 18 record set by Bjorn Borg in 1978.

Only Borg won six slams at a younger age than Alcaraz, which did it by winning three on Clay at Roland Garros and three on the grass at Wimbledon.

At 22, Nadal also had six (but won the last of these when he was a few months older than Alcaraz), while Pete Sampras was five years old and Wilander Four.

The tastes of eight times winner of Wimbledon, Roger Federer (three) and the champion of the Grand Slam Djokovic (one), were well behind the rhythm of Alcaraz at his age.
