Other NATO countries will move their troops and hunting planes east in response to the incursion of the unprecedented Russian drone on Wednesday in Polish airspace.

Denmark, France and Germany have joined a new mission to strengthen the eastern flank of the military alliance. Other NATO allies should participate later.

He came as the Kremlin said on Friday that the peace talks with kyiv were in “break”, spokesperson Dmitry Peskov saying: “You cannot wear rose tinged glasses and you expect the negotiation process to give immediate results.”

Political tensions were raised through Europe after Poland said 19 Russian drones had traveled its air space on Wednesday. Some have been killed, while others crashed in the fields and even a house in eastern Poland.

The Russian army said that it had “not intended to target the facilities” in Poland – but Polish and European leaders believe that the foray was deliberate.

According to the Danish Defense Ministry, Denmark will contribute two F-16 fighter planes to support the air defense of Poland and a warship.

“Denmark fully supports Poland in this situation,” said Prime Minister Put Frederiksen. “We must not be naive. Putin does not stop at anything, and he tests us. Therefore, it’s crucial … Denmark contributes.”

France will contribute three burst fighter planes, and Germany will give four Eurofighters.

The United Kingdom is “fully committed” to help strengthen the eastern sentry, the defense ministry said in a statement, adding that it will soon provide more details.

On Friday, European countries – and the United States – held in Poland during an urgent UN Security Council session in New York to discuss the Russian drone foray.

“The United States is subject to our NATO allies in the face of these alarming airspace violations,” the UN Ambassador Dorothy Shea told us. “And rest assured, we will defend every centimeter from the NATO territory.

She added that since Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin have held a summit in Alaska almost a month ago to discuss peace, “Russia intensified its bombing campaign against Ukraine”.

While addressing the UN on Friday, Polish Secretary of State Marcin Bosacki held photos of one of the slaughtered drones and a damaged house.

“We know – and I repeat – we know that it was not a mistake,” he said.

The Netherlands and the Czech Republic have already declared that they would send defenses to Poland, while Lithuania would receive a German brigade and a greater warning from the Russian attacks against Ukraine which could cross.

Germany has also said that it would “intensify its commitments along the eastern NATO border” and would extend and expand the air police in Poland.
