US President Donald Trump said on Monday that the US military had made another strike against a venezuelan drug cartel who was on the United States, the second type strike in recent weeks.

He said three men had been killed in the strike and that no American personal had been injured, adding that this had happened in international waters.

Trump declared in an article on Truth Social that the objective had been “positively identified (such as) extraordinarily violent drug trafficking and narcoterrorists”, adding that Cartels threaten US national security, foreign policy and other interests.

The message included a video of almost 30 seconds, which seemed to show an exploding ship and then on fire. Trump provided no evidence of his statement that the boat was carrying drugs.

The Ministry of Communications of Venezuela did not immediately respond to a request for comments.

Accumulation in the south of the Caribbean

The last strike comes in the middle of a great American military accumulation in the south of the Caribbean. Five US F-35 planes were seen landing in Porto Rico on Saturday after the Trump administration ordered that 10 of the stealthy fighters join the region’s accumulation.

Earlier this month, the American president announced a similar strike, off Venezuela, also involving what he claimed to be a ship carrying drugs.

The administration justified the previous strike as a necessary escalation to stem the flow of medication in the United States.

But several senators, democrats and certain Republicans have indicated dissatisfaction with the justification of the administration and questioned the legality of the action. They consider it as a potential excess of the executive authority in part using the military for the purposes of application of the law.
