ABC to stop ventilating Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Quoting comments made after Charlie Kirk Killing

ABC, belonging to Walt Disney, said on Wednesday that it would stop indefinitely Jimmy Kimmel Live! After the remarks that the late evening host made following the assassination of Charlie Kirk was criticized at the head of the Federal Commission (FCC).
The decision comes as US President Donald Trump has repeatedly pressure the broadcasters to stop disseminating content he found reprehensible and called on the FCC to draw licenses from the stations.
“Jimmy Kimmel Live will be pre-emptied indefinitely,” said a spokesperson for ABC, without developing.
Earlier, Nexstar Media Group, which describes itself as the largest television and local media company in the country, said it would stop the program on its 32 ABC affiliates, quoting Kimmel’s comments.
“Mr. Kimmel’s comments on Mr. Kirk ‘death are offensive and insensitive to a critical moment in our national political speech,” said Andrew Alford, president of the Nexstar broadcasting division.
Trump applauded the move in an article on his social media platform Truth Social on Wednesday.
“Congratulations to ABC for having finally had the courage to do what should be done,” wrote the president. “Kimmel has no talent and notes worse than even Colbert, if possible.”
He also apparently called to two other end -of -evening hosts, Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers, to be withdrawn from their network, NBC.
“This leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on the false NBC news,” wrote Trump. “Their notes are also horrible. Do it NBC !!!”
Kimmel spoke of reaction to Kirk Killing
During a recent monologue, Kimmel said that the United States had struck “new stockings over the weekend with the gang Maga trying desperately to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as something other than one of them and do everything they can to score political points.”
Kimmel also criticized Kirk’s mourning by Trump, pointing a video of Trump’s comments on the lawn of the White House.
“Between the tips of the fingers, there was, uh, in mourning – on Friday, the White House piloted the flags in half of the staff, which made criticism, but at a human level, you can see how the president took this,” said Kimmel, before cutting to a clip where Trump responded to reporters asking how he did the fact of the in progress at the house.
“This is how a four-year-old child cries a goldfish,” he said.
The end of the evening host did not respond to a request for comments from Reuters on Wednesday.
Earlier Wednesday, the president of the FCC, Brendan Carr, had urged the local broadcasters to stop ventilating the show. He suggested that the Commission could open an investigation accordingly and that the broadcasters could potentially be sentenced to a fine or to lose their license if there was a deformed commentary model.
“The easy way or the road to the hard”
“This is a very serious problem at the moment for Disney. We can do it the simplest way or the hard way,” Carr said in an interview with Podcast with conservative Benny Johnson who broadcast on Wednesday.
“Disney needs to see a change here, but individual approved stations that take their content, it is time for them to intensify and say that, you know, garbage to the extent that this is what descends the pipe in the future is not something which, in our view, responds to the needs of our local communities.”

Trump has repeatedly continued, reprimanded and threatened media companies whose coverage he disputes legally or other.
Carr, a person appointed by Trump whose agency regulates television licenses which are essential to networks like ABC, has echoed Trump’s concerns about media.
CARR celebrated the July cancellation of CBS The Late Show with Stephen ColbertA frequent platform for anti-Trump satire.
CBS said in July that he canceled Colbert’s program for financial reasons, although some criticisms suggested that his position on Trump played a role.
“The next step will be an even less talented Jimmy Kimmel,” said Trump after Colbert’s dismissal.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comments.
