Trump comes up against an Australian journalist on commercial affairs in power

Donald Trump accused an Australian journalist of “Hurting Australia” after he was asked about his business according to his functions.
John Lyons of Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) asked Trump how richer he had become since his return to the White House in January during Trump’s state visit to the United Kingdom.
“I don’t know,” said Trump, saying that his children have managed companies. He added that he would inform Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanian about Lyon, adding “you have given a very bad tone”.
ABC said on Thursday that he had been informed by the British Prime Minister’s press office that there was no more space to attend a joint press conference with Trump and Sir Keir Starmer.
In a statement, ABC said that it was still accredited to attend the residence of the Prime Minister’s country, Checkers, where Trump meets Sir Keir for talks Thursday, but that he “no longer has a place at the joint press conference” for “logistical reasons”.
The statement added that there was “no indication” which was linked to Lyons questions.
Wednesday’s interaction between Lyon and Trump saw the American chief hold his index finger at his lips before saying “calm” and walking away to speak to another journalist when Lyon tried to ask another question.
Trump also told Lyon that he was going to meet Albanians “very soon”, adding: “I’m going to tell him about you”.
For months, Albanian has asked for a meeting with the American president after the discussions between the couple were canceled at the last minute when Trump left the G20 summit in June earlier than planned to cope with the war in the Middle East.
Albanese – which will be in the United States for the United Nations General Assembly next week – had previously told ABC Radio that he and Trump “would be in New York”.
“He is organizing a reception Tuesday evening next week. And we will also see each other at various forums that take place by the end of the year.”

In recent months, American-Australian relations have been tense since the Trump administration announced an examination in Aukus, a large underwater contract worth 176 billion pounds Sterling (239 billion dollars; $ 368 billion) between the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia which was signed in 2021.
In April, Australia was also struck by a rate of at least 10% on all exports to the United States, which, according to Albanians, was “not the act of a friend”.
Lyon said after Trump’s laconic response that it was an “absurd notion” that asking politely asking legitimate questions to harm relations between the longtime allies.
“For me, it was a perfectly normal thing to do to ask questions that I don’t think I am provocative,” he told ABC, adding that his requests were just, on the basis of research and not abusive.
The ABC said that his questions were part of an investigation by their Four Corners program by examining Trump’s commercial transactions since returning to functions.
Shortly after the tense exchange, a publication on social networks on an official account of the White House showing that the answer was subtitled: Trump “strikes a coarse loser of false foreign news”.
