Plans for two casinos of Manhattan, Future and Caesars Palace, rejected

The proposals of two casinos of Manhattan, the Palais d’Avenir and Caesars, were interrupted while the committees rejected the offers.
It was Wednesday that the proposals were heard by panels who both voted to reject the plans during a 4-2 vote. The future was an entertainment complex offered of $ 7 billion with a Hyatt hotel and casino of 1000 rooms which had to include more than 12 restaurants and bars, a spa and fitness center, an outdoor swimming pool, a store entertainment and a community art gallery.
The future was intended to be built on the west side of Manhattan and has been said that it would create thousands of “well -paid union work” and training for local residents, while increasing security in the neighborhood and leading tourism to local businesses.
The Caesars Palace plan would have placed a casino in Times Square, Jay-Z having been a supporter of the proposal. The founder of Roc Nation presented the project not only as a major boost for the economy, but also as a cultural investment in the heart of Manhattan.
Why were the offers for Manhattan casinos been rejected?
The complete details of each person’s decision is not yet known, but a member of the municipal council, Erik Bottcher, brought social media to explain why he decided to vote against the plans.
“This is not a decision that I made lightly. All economic development opportunities deserve high consideration. I think casinos must erase a particularly high bar, requiring a degree of community membership only strong before being located in a neighborhood. Despite an awareness extended by the candidates, this level of support has not materialized, “he said.
He also declared that this decision came after “countless conversations with voters in cafes, salons and street corners”, as well as “in -depth public commitment and a careful deliberation”.
