President Donald Trump said the American forces had made a “deadly kinetic strike” on a ship which, according to him, treated drugs, and the attack killed three “male narcoterrorists” on board.

Trump said he had ordered the attack on the boat, which was in the Southern Command responsibility area after American intelligence confirmed that they were trafficking drugs. It was the third strike of this type on alleged drug boats in recent weeks.

On Friday, Trump’s declaration on Truth Social said that the strike occurred in international waters. The area of ​​responsibility for the South American command covers most of South America and the Caribbean.

Two previous strikes killed a total of 14 people on boats in Venezuela.

Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro previously condemned strikes and said that his country would defend itself against us “assault”.

Friday evening, Trump’s post reflected the previous announcements of such strikes. He presented a video showing the boat traveling on a body of water, and a few seconds later, it explodes and bursts into flames.

“On my orders, the secretary of war ordered a deadly kinetic strike on a ship affiliated with a terrorist organization designated leading drugstock in the field of responsibility of Ursouthcom,” said Trump.

“Intelligence has confirmed that the ship trafficked illicit drugs and passed through a passage of narcotrafficking known on the way to poison the Americans,” he wrote.

Legal experts previously declared to the BBC that the deadly strike of the first ship in international waters may have raped international human rights and maritime law.
