Learning Yashasvi Jaiswal under Rohit Sharma
From his very first test, Jaiswal found Rohit more than a simple striking partner. In 28 rounds together, they accumulated 1,269 points, mixing the flair with composure. Beyond these figures, Jaiswal attributes to Rohit of having instilled mental tenacity and technical refinement.
According to Jaiswal, the support of Rohit out of the field has counted just as much. PEP talks during net sessions and honest comments on the tour helped him overcome doubts and manage the pressure on the beginnings. Rohit’s dedication to routines also left a deep impression. This mixture of technical ideas and personal advice, he thinks, accelerated his preparation for the test cricket.
“I really like to be with Rohit Bhai. He taught me so much and helped me a lot to develop, both mentally and overall. He is really an incredible human being. When you are with him or you talk to him, you learn a lot, in fact, just looking at him, you can learn so much. Jaiswal said.

Laughs and lessons with Virat Kohli
While Rohit played the older brother, Kohli brought energy and humor to all the locker rooms. In ten rounds together, they scored 361 points, presenting an assault with a strategy. Jaiswal described Kohli as the moral booster of the team, always ready with a full -minded remark, even in tense moments. Although Jaiswal tries to find humor itself, he admits that Kohli’s razor spirit passes to another level.
Beyond laughter, Kohli’s work ethics and fitness standards have influenced Jaiswal’s own approach. The young person observed how Kohli balances intensity with heat, creating an environment where serious exercises and light moments coexist. This balance, said Jaiswal, taught him leadership and teamwork.
“Paaji is incredible, really strong. I struck with him several times. He’s so fun, and he’s really funny too. If he spends time with him, you will continue to laugh, it is a different level. Laughing for sure, ” Jaiswal said.
While Rohit and Kohli retire tests in May 2025, Jaiswal’s reflections underline the heritage that these legends leave behind. Thanks to mentorship, skills development and a lively cloakroom culture, they have prepared the next generation. With talents like Jaiswal ready to wear the mantle, the tradition of excellence of the India team seems well secured.
