After cuts to food cuts, the Trump administration ends the annual government’s annual report on the hunger in America

The Trump administration puts an end to the annual report of the federal government on Hunger in America, declaring that it had become “too politicized” and “in the grip of inaccuracies”.
The decision comes two and a half months after President Donald Trump signed legislation greatly reducing food aid to the poor. The Congressional Budget Office estimated that the tax and expenditure reductions of the Republicans muscular by the Congress in July mean that 3 million people would not qualify for food coupons, also known as SNAP Advantages.
The decision to remove the Household Security Report from the United States Ministry of Agriculture was reported for the first time by the Wall Street Journal.
In a press release on Saturday, the USDA said that the 2024 report, which will be published on October 22, would be the last.
“The questions used to collect data is fully subjective and do not have a precise image of real food security,” said the USDA. “The data is widespread with inclined inaccuracies to create a story that is not representative of what is really going on in the campaigns, because we are currently experiencing lower poverty rates, an increase in wages and employment growth under the Trump administration.”
The census office reported earlier this month that the American poverty rate had increased from 11% in 2023 to 10.6% last year, before Trump was in good function.
Critics did not have to accuse the administration of having deliberately made the measure of hunger more difficult and to assess the impact of its cuts in food coupons.
“Trump cancels an annual government survey which measures hunger in America, rather than allowing him to show that hunger increased under his mandate,” said Bobby Kogan, principal director of federal budget policy at the center of the left for American Progress, on social networks. “This follows the game book of many non-democracies which cancel or manipulate reports which, otherwise, would show news less than perfect.”
