Trump calls Kirk ‘Martyr’ As his wife forgives the shooter

“That day, this evangelist for American Liberty became immortal,” said Trump on Sunday in front of tens of thousands of people in mourning inside the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. “He is now a martyr for American freedom.”

Trump described how Kirk would ask him to fly across the country to appear at his events with little notice.

“You never wanted to drop Charlie,” said Trump. “He worked so hard that you just don’t want to drop him down.”

Trump also invoked one of his final exchanges with Kirk to support his longtime plan sent to the federal forces to repress the crime in Chicago. “We are going to have Charlie very in mind when we go to Chicago,” he said.

Kirk, 31, was killed on September 10 during a debate in a University of Utah, leaving behind Erika, and two young children, as well as the USA Turning Point organization that he founded. On Sunday, he was a lionized as a Christian and patriotic martyr engaged in freedom of expression and questioning liberal orthodoxy.
