The Eswatini government says it has been repatriated from the United States to Jamaica

A Jamaican expelled from the United States in Eswatini under the new difficult immigration rules of President Donald Trump was sent to Jamaica, the government of Eswatini said.
Orville Isaac Etoria, 62, was voluntarily repatriated this weekend and was “warmly welcomed by family members,” he added.
But her treatment was condemned by the Legal Aid Society of New York, who said that Etoria came to the United States as a child and there was a status as a legal permanent resident for decades.
Etoria and four other people – from Cuba, Laos, Vietnam and Yemen – were described by the United States government as “depraved monsters” when they were expelled to Eswatini in southern Africa in July.
Since then, they have been detained in isolation in a maximum security prison in the capital Mbabane.
Lawyers of the remaining four deportees say they have not been able to contact them. But the government of Eswatini said it is trying to repatriate them all.
Trump’s commitment to make mass deportations was a centerpiece of his electoral campaign and a problem to which he attracted wide support.
In some cases, people are expelled to countries where they have no connection.
Etoria had “transformed her life” while serving a 25 -year prison sentence for murder and reinstated in American society, when he was expelled and imprisoned again in Eswatini without regular procedure, Legal Aid Society.
Eswatini activists also denounced the agreement as “unconstitutional” and protested outside the American Embassy.
Rights defense groups have brought legal action in order to overthrow it, saying that the government could not conclude the agreement without the approval of the Parliament.
The government said it had acted in its powers.
Eswatini is the last absolute monarchy in Africa. Previously known as Swaziland, the small country without coastline is surrounded by South Africa and Mozambique. It has been led by King Mswati III since 1986.
