Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton joined Ligue 1 Side Lyon for a fees of 15 million pounds sterling.

The 22 -year -old, who progressed in the Reds Academy to make his senior debut in 2021, made 14 appearances in all competitions and spent some time on loan in the championship with Hull and Blackburn.

However, the International of England U21, which was part of the Lee Carsley team who successfully defended his crown of the European championship this summer, found a constant playing time at the Anfield Club Limited.

He is now joining a Lyon team that has endured a few turbulent months. They were initially demoted to the second level of France due to bad finances, but were then reinstated in the elite after winning their call.

Liverpool expenses on the summer transfers have already exceeded 250 million pounds sterling, with Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Giorgi Mamardashvili and Armin Pecsi who cross the door.

Morton’s move comes after the departure of Jarrell Quansah – another graduate from the Academy – to Bayer Leverkusen for 35 million pounds Sterling last month.

The sale of academic products, like Morton and Quansah, is vital for clubs to respect the profit and sustainable rules of the Premier League.

Luis Diaz, Caoimhin Kelleher and Trent Alexander-Arnold also all left Liverpool this summer.
