DHS uses Nintendo’s music and Pokémon video in the last bizarre tweet

The American Department of Internal Security has spent the last months displaying some of the most bizarre documents that have ever come from an official American government account. And now we can add “fascist Pokémon” to the list.
The official DHS account published a one -minute video on X and Instagram on Monday which opens with images of explosions at the gates of invisible victims. Pokémon music begins, with the lyrics “I want to be the best …”, because viewers see American stormtroopers in fatigue walking in slow motion.
The song continues because there are photos of people with blurred faces stopped in a montage that clearly seeks to glorify masked federal agents. These agents terrorize local communities since President Donald Trump was inaugurated for a second term, including last week, when ICE agents used a 5 -year -old autistic girl to attract her father out of a house.
We do not know at this stage if Nintendo gave the permission of the DHS to use music and pokémon images in this unusual video, but it seems extremely improbable. Nintendo did not answer questions on Tuesday morning.

Social media users have had mixed reactions to the new Pokémon video, with some praising Trump’s brutality. “”Whoever is behind social media. Bravo 🙌❤️😂 ”reads a high -ranking comment.
Others dragged DHS on the back. The high comment on the Instagram video at the moment can be read as follows: “Do not forget to catch everyone on the Epstein list 😍 I have to catch them all? Another Instagram commentator responded with an animated GIF showing the late sexual offender Jeffrey Epstein as a Pokémon and the words “Epstein did not commit suicide”.

President Trump would have been good friends with Epstein for 15 years. Despite the initial promises of people like the Attorney General Pam Bondi and the director of the FBI Kash Patel that important documents on Epstein would be released, they now say that there is no Epstein list. Epstein died in prison in 2019, although many people are skeptical about the official history he killed.
In follow -up tweets, DHS published images of people suggested by the agency who have been captured for various offenses, made to look like Pokémon cards. The cards read “the worst of the worst” and include the name, age and nationality of the subject. A flag showing the country of origin of the subject appears behind their head. There are also typical statistics of a Pokémon.
Kristi Noem, the interior security secretary, relied on the extreme rhetoric of President Trump with regard to immigration. And this posture has really occurred on social networks, the DHS frequently publishing aggressive messages on X using music and images that do not seem to be officially approved.
Back in July, DHS published a video that uses a voiceover from Batman (2022) as well as a biblical quote to justify the horrible tactics of the agency. Another video uses a song called “God’s Gonna Cut You Down” by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, which was presented in the Netflix series An entire man With Jeff Daniels. Again, it is not clear if DHS asked permission to use these cinema songs and clips, but it seems very improbable. The audio of the DHS video which uses “God will cut you” is no longer available on Instagram, probably on copyright problems.
DHS also published a video last week which uses Nirvana’s “Smells Like Steen Spirit”, and it also looks like the audio of the original song is incorporated into a sort of remix. The DHS account is also extremely loving imaging that seeks to invoke a feeling of nostalgia when America was more patriarchal and white. The succession of the painter the late Thomas Kinkade, who died in 2012, published a declaration on the unauthorized use of painting by DHS “Morning dupume.”
All this worrying content seems to be afraid of the country. And there are certainly reasons to be afraid when masked agents use violence on such a scale. Pacific demonstrators have been attacked several times in ICE facilities, especially when the candidate for the Illinois Congress, Kat Abughazaleh, was injured in the city of Broadview on Friday.

Fifteen people died in immigration detention since President Trump took office in January, according to NPR. Ten of these deaths took place from January to June, the highest death rate in the first six months of any year recorded. And as long as Trump is in power, it seems that things will get worse for the most vulnerable.
Gizmodo contacted DHS questions about the question of whether the agency asked permission to concede in license in the intellectual property of Pokémon. The agency did not answer our questions, only an email, “to stop them is our real test. Expeating them is our cause ”, a reference to the song.
