Boyd Gaming reveals the violation of internal information data of employees


The operator of Casino Boyd Gaming shared the details of a data violation which has seen bad players access its systems.
Boyd Gaming, based in the United States, revealed that it was the subject of a data violation, where the attackers had access to its internal systems. Although the data has been stolen, it is not supposed to assign customers, the data being largely of the information and data of employees belonging to a small handful of other people.
The details of the violation were shared on September 23 when Boyd Gaming filed an 8-K form filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The company clearly indicated that it was already working with external cybersecurity experts to respond to the attack and consolidate the defenses, pending, paid by a cybersecurity insurance policy, with the informed police.
Although many details of the data violation are listed as unknown, the company said that “the cybersecurity incident has had no impact on the company’s properties or commercial operations”.
“During the detection of the incident, the company quickly took action to respond to the incident with the help of external cybersecurity and cooperation experts with the federal law enforcement authorities,” said Boyd Gaming in the file. “The company has determined that the unauthorized third party has deleted certain data from the company’s IT systems, including employee information and a limited number of other people. The company notifies the affected individuals and has or will inform or inform its various regulators and other government agencies, as needed. ”
The effects of data violation
Boyd then noted that he “believes that the incident will have no significant effective effect on the financial situation or the operating results of the company”.
Boyd Gaming is an American casino entertainment company that has 28 play properties in 10 states and manages a tribal casino in Northern California. The company employs more than 16,000 people throughout the country, generating an annual turnover of $ 3.9 billion last year and a turnover in the second quarter of $ 1 billion in 2025.
