On Friday, the US State Department said that it would revoke the Visa by Colombian President Gustavo Petro.

The decision was based on the “incendiary actions” of the left chief during a pro-Palestinian demonstration in New York, added the State Department.

Petro was already on the way to Bogota from New York on Friday evening, according to the Colombian media cited by Agency France-Press.

Earlier in the week, Petro compared the Trump administration air strikes on alleged drug trafficking boats in the Caribbean Sea to an “tyranny act” in an interview with the BBC.

Friday, Petro shared a video of himself speaking the Spaniard to a large crowd through a megaphone.

Its translator has relayed its remarks urging the “nations of the world” to contribute soldiers for an army “greater than that of the United States”.

“This is why, from here in New York, I ask all the soldiers of the United States army not to point their rifles to humanity,” he said.

“Disobt to Trump’s order!” Obey the order of humanity! ” Petro added.

In response, the State Department has strongly criticized its action.

“Earlier in the day, the Colombian president @petrogustavo was held in a street in New York and urged American soldiers to disobey orders and encourage violence,” said the State Department in an article on X.

“We will revoke the Petro visa because of its reckless and incendiary actions,” he said.

The Minister of the Interior of Colombia, Armando Benedetti, wrote on X on Friday evening that the visa of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should have been revoked rather than that of Petro.

“But as the Empire protects, he withdraws it from the only president who was sufficiently capable of telling him the truth about his face.”

Petro, whose country is the largest cocaine producer in the world, said that he suspects that some of the people killed in the American strikes of the boat were Colombian.

Washington maintains that actions are part of an American anti-drug operation off the coast of Venezuela, whose president Washington accuses of leading a cartel.

Under Petro – The very first left chief of the country – Colombia has seen a worsening of links with the Trump administration.

The United States has also denied visas for Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian President and 80 Palestinian officials, preventing them from participating in the United Nations General Assembly in New York this week.
