Lowry and McILroy Seal correspond to a victory for dominant Europe after the pair heckled by spectators -

Shane Lowry and Rory McILroy sealed another point for a dominant team in Europe in the Fourballs, with McILroy, who was involved in a verbal altercation with spectators earlier during the day, calling for “extremely satisfactory” victory.

The two Irish produced a serious performance, sometimes backs for the wall when they came out victorious in their match with Cameron Young and Justin Thomas to give Europe a huge advance of 10.5-3.5.

While McILroy was preparing to hit his approach to the 16th green, he was heckled by the members of the crowd, with an heard screaming “freedom”.

He had responded earlier to the abuses by exploding kisses to the spectators, but this time reacted with anger, telling the heckled to “close the ****”.

The remark pulled the tunes of the crowd, but McILroy followed his comment in the most effective way possible – by pulling his rugged iron shot less than three feet from the flag.

Subsequently, the North Irishman added: “I don’t mind that they will throw us. It is to be expected. This is what a Ryder Cup is outside.

“Whenever they always do it while you are above the ball and try to hit your shot, it’s the difficult thing. Between the photos, say what you want to. It’s quite good.

“But give us the respect to allow us to hit blows and give us the same chance as the Americans have done.”
