Chunk received the most votes in a competition between 12 brown bear where voters choose the one they believe “best illustrates fat and success” while they are preparing for winter hibernation.

Park Rangers in Katmai National Park in Alaska, which houses some of the world’s largest brown bears, has congratulated Chunk’s resilience to learn to fish with its injury.

Voters from more than 100 countries have followed the action of the Katmai Brooks river through live web flows, where bears can be seen picking up salmon and watching their competitors.
