Asahi partially restarted production in the six breweries in Japan after being forced to close them due to a cyber attack.

Several department stores in Japan, including 7-Eleven and Familymart, had warned last week that they were in low in stocks of beer after the hacking of the command and delivery systems of the ASAHI group assigned to the country.

Asahi is the largest brewer in Japan, but it also manufactures soft drinks and food products, as well as brand products specific to other retailers.

Partially restarted breweries produce the bestseller Asahi Super Dry, but the company also restarts plants that produce food and carbonated drinks.

Cyberattack is the last to affect operations in large companies, the automaker Jaguar Land Rover is still struggling to recover from an attack that has closed production.

Asahi Group also has Fuller in the United Kingdom and world brands, notably Peroni, Pilsner Urquell and Grolsch. However, only Asahi’s operations in Japan – which represent about half of its sales – have been affected by the attack.

Asahi said that beer plants reopened in Japan were “not yet fully operational” and that two of its factories of soft drinks that partially reopened did not work at full capacity.

He added that there were five other factories of soft drinks which “will gradually resume in accordance with expeditions”

Its seven of its food factories have resumed operations, although they are not yet fully operational.

Asahi said that the production systems of the factories themselves had not been affected by the cyber attack, but that it had been forced to stop production because it could not treat orders and expeditions.

The company added that its breweries produced only super dry, and that from October 15, it would take up expeditions of 16 products, including its non -alcoholic beers Asahi Dry Zero and Asahi Zero, as well as Clear Asahi and Whiskey Black Nikka Clear.

He said that certain product launches would also be postponed.
