SGLA hosts the very first online social game exhibition after a panel rejection in G2E

The Social Gaming Leadership Alliance (SGLA) hosted the very first exhibition of online social games, after their land for a panel was rejected from the G2E conference.
The SGLA organized the very first online social game exhibition on October 2, just a few days before the Las Vegas G2E conference, held between October 6 and 9. The SGLA said it had proposed to hold a panel at the G2E, discussing the role of online social games at the World Game Exhibition.
However, after this panel was refused, the SGLA organized its own round table, featuring speakers like the director of interactive social yellow Paul Foster, the executive advisor of VGW, Derek Brinkman, and the CEO of Keda, Eric Wright. The round table sought to offer a “reminder of the commitment of the industry to good regulations”.
The subjects tackled included what the SGLA described as “refute disinformation” around the online social game industry, as well as to highlight the commitment of operators towards “responsible innovation, the protection of actors and the integrity of the industry”.
“We thought it was important to share the perspective of our industry leading to the World Game Exhibition,” said Duncan. “From the Robust Age Verification and Protections of Players to Entertainment Social Games with the assistance provided, the discussion on the exhibition of online social games covered many important fields on online social games with competition promotions.”
The role of SGLA in industry
The other speakers who participated in the independent online forum included other industry leaders, such as the Interactive General Councilor of ARB, Bryan Schroeder, the tribal administrator of Kletsel Dehe Wintun Nation, and the CEO of Kletsel Economic Development Authority (Keda), Eric Wright. The importance of regulatory surveillance has been made a central part of the panel.
This comes after the SGLA said that the increase in the bar of responsible standards through industry was a central objective in 2025, with specific initiatives, including a campaign against a bill that would prohibit the competition.
