Former actor-Superman Dean Cain announced that he was planning to join the American immigration and customs application agency, known as ICE.

In an interview on Wednesday, Cain, which is already sworn in application of the law, said: “I will be sworn as an ice age as soon as possible”.

This occurs after having published a video encouraging public members to join a recruitment campaign by the agency, which is behind the expulsion program crawled by the Trump administration.

Cain played the role of Superman between 1993 and 1997 in the television series, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.

He continued to play in a number of other movies and television shows, and also made.

At the end of July, Ice announced that it was aimed at recruiting 10,000 new additional people, doubling the agency’s workforce when it increases deportations across the country.

He specifically hopes to recruit deportation agents, as well as lawyers, criminal investigators, referees of student visas and other roles.

Speaking on Wednesday on Fox News, Cain said: “I published a recruitment video yesterday – I am in fact an assistant sworn sheriff and a reserve police officer – I was not part of the ice, but once I put this there and you put a small presentation text in your show, it turned crazy”.

“So now, I spoke with ICE officials, and I will be sworn in as an ice age as soon as possible.”

Cain said he assumed the role to “help protect” the country

“People must intensify. I integrate. I hope that a lot of former officers, former ice agents will intervene and we will achieve these recruitment goals immediately and we will help protect this country,” added Cain.

BBC News contacted the Ministry of Internal Security (DHS) to comment.

US President Donald Trump has promised to increase the pace of the United States evictions to one million a year.

Part of this effort included an increase in immigration raids since Trump became president.

They triggered demonstrations in the United States cities, criticisms calling illegal raids.

On July 29, ICE announced that it offered recruitment bonuses up to $ 50,000 (£ 37,700) and aid to the student loan to Americans interested in helping the Trump administration’s expulsion campaign.

As part of the recruitment campaign, the DHS unveiled recruitment posters similar to those used during the Second World War, with the words “America Need You” and “Defend the Fatherland” with images of Uncle Sam, US President Donald Trump, the secretary of domestic security Kristi Noem and other officials.

On Wednesday, the agency said they received more than 80,000 candidates for the 10,000 jobs. Speaking on Fox News, Noem said that they had suppressed the age limits for the candidates’ age.

Ice currently has 20,000 officers and support staff, spread across the country in 400 offices.

The recruitment campaign comes just a few weeks after Trump signed his expense bill.

The bill included more than $ 76 billion allocated to ice – almost 10 times what he had previously received – and by making the Federal Application for the most funded law.
