Stevenson likes to try to arrange a fight like Terence Crawford did with Errol Spence in 2023. However, Shakur (22-0, 10 KOs) doesn’t think Gervonta would go for that idea because he has “some s*** against me.”

The truth is that Tank doesn’t like athletes, and Shakur doesn’t belong in this era. His classic, classic Mayweather style is classic.

It could be that Tank (30-0, 28 KOs) is put off by Shakur’s obsession with him, bringing his name up in interviews, pushing too hard to promote his fights, and being an uninteresting fighter. Davis would be the photographer for the fight between them, and Shakur would be there as a cardboard project.

If Shakur could make his name by hitting hitters better and staying in the pocket for turnovers instead of running, he wouldn’t need to ask Gervonta to fight. Being beaten repeatedly for being boring makes Shakur one of the most underrated figures in boxing. He is not fit to be in the presence of King Tank.

The King and The Shortcut

Stevenson sounds like a fool, thinking that all he has to do is say, “Let’s fight,” to fight Gervonta. That’s not how it happens. He has to deal with good opposition, stop the run, look good, and keep the fans from getting him down 24/7. If all the contestants would do it and say, “Let’s fight,” to get a chance to meet the King, everyone would do it. That’s not how it works.

If Shakur wants to take a shortcut to fight Gervonta, he needs to do something drastic, like in the days of the Knights and King Arthur. He should go to 154 and beat Bakhram Murtazaliev or Vergil Ortiz Jr. If Stevenson did that, his popularity would shoot through the roof, and he would have no problem fighting Tank.
