  • Grok will allow advertisers to pay to appear in chatbot suggestions. The marketing push comes after Musk criticized Openai several times for its plan to launch a for -profit business. The paying placement could raise questions about the accuracy of the chatbot answers.

Elon Musk seeks to monetize Grok. Addressing advertisers in a live discussion on X this week, Musk said that advertisers would be allowed to pay to appear in the suggestions of the Grok Chatbot.

“Our so far objective has just made Grok the most intelligent and precise AI in the world, and I think we have greatly succeeded. We will therefore focus on how we pay these expensive GPUs,” said Musk, as quoted by the Financial time.

The marketing push comes after Musk criticized several times (and has filed a legal action against) OpenAi for its plan to launch a for -profit business. It also arrives shortly after Musk’s Grok AI launched a “spicy mode” which allows users to create videos and deepake images of celebrities and individuals, which can become downright torrid.

He also raises questions about the accuracy of the answers. The AI depends on the source material to reflect specific responses, so allow companies to fit into the responses could make Grok’s responses questionable.

“If a user tries to solve a problem (by asking Grok), advertising the specific solution would be ideal at this stage,” said Musk.

The objective, he said, was to “overcome the curse of Twitter”, where users got used to the service for years for years and fell back when they were asked to pay or when advertising appeared on the site.

That companies wish to associate their brands with Grok is a more important question. Last month, the chatbot made several anti -Semitic comments, even referring to Hitler, questioned on the flood of Texas. (The technological team claims that the problem has since been corrected.) Grok even turned on Musk in the past. In January, when he was asked: “Is Elon Musk a good person?” The AI replied “no” and offered a list of linen of actions that could launch Musk in a negative light.
