The Canadian Water-Water-Water match made a break briefly after shots fired near the U20 World Cup in Brazil

Brazilian police said on Monday that there had been no injury after shots had been fired near a Water-Polo game from the World Cup under the age of 20 between China and Canada in the city of Salvador.
China won 12-8 Sunday – the tournament day – but images showed that the match was briefly interrupted while the players left the pool, started and covered themselves by a small barrier after hearing shots outside the Water -Polo place in the Pituba district. China led Canada 3-2 at the time.
“The match stopped for about a minute. Our team saw that the police are dealing with it,” said Marco Antonio Lemos, head of the Bahia State Sports Federation, in a statement.
The police said that the cause of the shots was a confrontation with an alleged local thief who was outside the place and tried to escape. No more details have been given.
Spectators were informed of the incident after the match resumed.
Brazil organizes the 16 team tournament for the first time.
