Malick Thiaw is ready to complete 35 million pounds sterling of Magpies to follow Medical

Malick Thiaw should be confirmed as a Newcastle United player after the Central AC Milan defender finished his doctor with the Magpies.
In the midst of their impasse with Alexander Isak on his desire to join Liverpool, Newcastle endured a frustrating summer while they are preparing for a 2025-26 campaign during which they will play football from the Champions League for the second time in three seasons.
Although Newcastle has completed a move of 55 million pounds sterling for the Swedish winger Anthony Elaga from Nottingham Forest, they found other offers difficult to finalize, missing a multitude of objectives, especially in attack areas. After the long -term goalkeeper, Target, James Trafford, returned to Manchester City in Burnley, Newcastle pivoted to use Aaron Ramsdale de Southampton with an option to buy.
But they managed to recruit Thiaw, with the German central defender of Tyneside on Sunday before undergoing his medical training doctor on the Newcastle training field.
It is expected to sign costs in the region of 35 million pounds sterling and will solve a significant problem in the Newcastle defense center. Eddie Howe strongly relied on Fabian Schar and Dan Burn, both aged 33, in the midst of persistent injury problems for Sven Botman.
The arrival of Thiaw, aged 24, gives Newcastle an option in the longer term to the position with the 25 -year -old botman.
Thiaw joined Milan de Schalke in 2022 and played 85 appearances for Rossoneri, scoring his only goal for the club during a 3-1 victory against Real Madrid in the Champions League last season.
Massimiliano Allegri wanted to keep Thiaw while he begins his second fate in Milan. However, before climbing his flight to Newcastle, Thiaw told journalists: “Newcastle? I’m satisfied with the choice. I’m ready for the Premier League.”
Newcastle is now likely to change their attention to securing attack reinforcements, the Isak saga throwing a shadow on their efforts in the transfer window.
An agreement for the Brentford striker, Yoane Wissa, would be close, but with his season starting on Saturday and that Isak trains far from the team, the probability is that Newcastle will face Aston Villa with Anthony Gordon operating in a false role.
