Read the script to one of the best episodes of “Andor” and experience greatness

One of the few rare problems with Andor To be as good as it is that we do not get more, in any format – but the one that mainly stings is that we have so close to being able to look at the scripts behind the SMASH -HIT Star Wars series. We were on the verge of greatness, as a certain imperial director would have said, in 2023, when Tony Gilroy and Lucasfilm announced that the scripts of the season were published online, but so that they never arrive. Gilroy gave us an incredibly valid reason earlier this year – to prevent scripts be introduced into generative AI models, which hopes us that we would also see the scripts of season 2 of the next season 2.

But at least on this front, there is a little glow of hope.

As part of his consideration campaign effort in the next season of TV awards (which, of course, includes Andor And its 14 EMMY appointments), the official Disney FYC website has been updated to include a post-Final production script for Andor Season 2 Episode 9, “Bienvenue à la Rébellion”, by Dan Gilroy. The episode, itself nominated in exceptional writing for a category of dramatic series at the 77th EMMY next month, cultivated the third act of Andor Season 2, and sees Cassian Assist Min Mothma’s Escape of Coruscant after having made an overwhelming speech in the imperial Senate on the role of Palpatine in the massacre of Ghorman.

Even if we have had a lot of opportunities to watch and review the episode itself, reading the script offers a fascinating overview of the creative process behind AndorAnd the chance to see what emotional beating and intention came from the writing of Gilroy, and from what prospered or was naturally modified through the performance and interpretation of the distribution. It is also a remarkable reading experience, an experience that captures the tension that would end up sizzles on the screen, with a flow and a rhythm, even if you are not used to reading a shooting script, slipped with a passionate gallery. It is not surprising that, even from an extremely strong harvest of scripts to choose in season 2, it is the one who won Andor appointment.

But as well as it is, he now makes Lucasfilm and Gilroy’s decision to stop the rest of the rest of the Andor Even more heartbreaking scripts. It would be absolutely incredible for the show now to be complete to be able to travel freely or even buy a coffee table book that collects the 24 scripts in one place and rethink the journey from a point of view that we rarely get for Star Wars material. Just another thing to blame the generator, for the moment at least.
