Forest fires raged in Spain and Portugal while continuous heat waves

Thousands of firefighters fought huge incendiaries in Spain and Portugal on Saturday, while certain parts of southern Europe remained seized by a heat wave.
The national meteorological agency of Spain, Aemet, said that temperatures had exceeded 44 ° C in several places on Saturday and warned against a very high risk of fire across “almost the whole country”.
More than 1,500 km2 (579 miles m²) were devastated by the flames in Spain and seven people died.
A heat wave burned southern Europe’s sides this week, which caused forest fires in Spain, Portugal, Greece, France and Balkans.
