Ashton Jeanty did not waste time to show why he was one of the most productive backs in university football and a choice of recovery from the NFL.

During the pre-season confrontation on Saturday with the 49ers of San Francisco, the recruit of the Raiders of Las Vegas presented itself categorically.

At the beginning of the first trimester, Jeanty broke out in the middle before raising the shoulders of Cornerback Deommodore Lenoir with a steep arm that sent the defender to the lawn.

The 5 -foot 8 inch balloon carrier and 208 pounds traveled 13 yards on the 25 yards line, only shot down by Ji’Ayir Brown with 2:10 to play in the quarter.

His physical style did not go unnoticed by teammates.

“It is just pulling me by seeing the path (Jeanty) runs,” said quarter-Arrière Geno Smith. “He crosses people and he does not move away from contact. He will be a special player.”

Although the raiders finally dropped by 22-19 at the alleging stadium, Jeanty delivered the type of performance he was waiting for.

Finalist of the Heisman trophy at the college, he recorded seven races for 33 yards, including a touch of 1 rod which closed a journey of eight games and 41 yards to give Las Vegas an advance of 10-3 in the second quarter.

“I arrived and it’s time to continue and play games for this team,” said Jeanty.

It was a well-necessary rebound after finishing with a minus-1 precipitation in three attempts the previous week in Seattle.

Jeanty presented his tenacity throughout the competition. On a third and 5 to half the first quarter, he propelled the security brands for a first try.

Shortly after, he caught a short pass from Smith before taking a blow from the second Luke Gifford. The recruit was briefly evaluated in the medical tent for a possible concussion, but returned for the next series of raiders.

“It was just a little dart. The first time I had one,” said Jeanty. “(Gifford) struck me quite strong, but I did not go down, so I will say that I won that one.”

Head coach Pete Carroll was also impressed by the resilience of his recruit.

“Jeanty looked hard as hell,” said Carroll.

Offensive progress

Despite the loss, Carroll estimated that the Raiders offensive had taken a positive step. With the San Francisco rest stars, Fred Warner, Nick Bosa and Mykel Williams, Smith finished 5 passes on 8 for 55 yards, spreading the ball with five different receivers.

Its biggest connection was a shot of 28 yards with Brock Bowers, all pro. Brock Bowers.

Carroll praised the offensive line, which gave Smith a solid protection and granted only two pressures. Jordan Meredith started in the center for the second consecutive week, while the Jackson Powers-Johnson recruit aligned herself at the right-wing guard.

“(Meredith has really resumed this thing and did a good job with that,” said Carroll. “(Powers-Johnson) is fighting for guard, and we know that we have a physical guy who is drawn and also helps us.

“The movements have been well chosen, and I think we will benefit from it.”
