Hamas accepts the new proposal for a ceasefire from Gaza, according to a group source

Hamas accepted the last proposal of regional mediators for a cease-fire agreement in Gaza and hostage release with Israel, a source from the Palestinian Armed Group told BBC.
According to a Palestinian official familiar with talks, the proposal of Egypt and Qatar is a complete two -step plan based on a framework advanced by the American envoy Steve Witkoff.
He would see Hamas free of approximately half of the 50 remaining Israeli hostages – 20 of which are considered alive – in two stages during a temporary truce of 60 days. Meanwhile, there would be negotiations on a permanent ceasefire and a withdrawal of Israeli troops.
There was no immediate comments from Israeli officials.
Hundreds of thousands of people have gathered in Tel Aviv on Sunday evening to demand that the government of Israel agree with Hamas to return the hostages.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused the demonstrators of hardening Hamas’ negotiation position.
