Fireball moment lights the night sky in Japan

A ball of fire started the sky in many parts of southern Japan on Tuesday evening.

Live cameras in places in some parts of Kyushu and Shikoku captured the white fire ball while it illuminated the sky shortly after 11:00 p.m. local time (3:00 p.m. BST).

The fireball was produced after fragments of dust or asteroids burned in the atmosphere, according to experts cited by local media.
