Israel calls 60,000 reservists before the Gaza City offensive

The Israeli army says that it calls around 60,000 reservists before an offensive of the soil provided to capture and occupy the entire city of Gaza.
A military official said that reservists would present themselves to the service in September and that most of the troops mobilized for the offensive are active staff.
They added that the troops were already operating in the regions of Zeitoun and Jabalia as part of the plan preparations, which the Minister of Defense Israel Katz approved on Tuesday and will be placed in the security firm later this week.
Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from Gaza City should be ordered to evacuate and head towards shelters in the south of Gaza.
Many allies of Israel have condemned the plan, while non -governmental and non -governmental non -governmental organizations have warned that another offensive and additional mass trip will have a “horrible humanitarian impact” after 22 months of war.
The Israeli government has announced its intention to conquer the entire Gaza Strip after indirect discussions with Hamas on a cease-fire and hostage release contract broke up last month.
Regional mediators are trying to obtain an agreement before the start of the offensive and presented a new proposal for a 60 -day truce and the release of about half of the 50 hostages still organized in Gaza, which Hamas said it accepted on Monday.
Israel has not yet submitted an official response, but Israeli officials insisted on Tuesday that they would no longer accept a partial agreement and demanded a complete that would see all the released hostages. Only 20 hostages would be alive.
The Israeli Defense Forces (FRI) said in a statement that orders calling 60,000 reservists had been issued Wednesday as part of the preparations for “the next phase of trolleys of Operation Gideon” – the offensive it launched in May.
In addition, 20,000 reservists who had already been called would receive an opinion extending their current orders, he added.
The Israeli military official said senior commanders had approved the plan for a “progressive” and “specifies” operation in and around Gaza City, and that the chief of staff, Lieutenant-General Eyal Zamir, was to finalize them in the coming days.
Five divisions should participate in the offensive, according to the manager.
The Journal Haaretz quoted the Minister of Defense, Katz, said on Tuesday: “Once the operation is finished, Gaza will change her face and will no longer look as in the past.”
It would also have approved a plan to “welcome” residents of Gaza City in the south of the territory, including the Al-Mawasi coastal region, where the army began to establish additional food distribution points and field hospitals.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the military’s objectives were to guarantee the release of all the hostages held by Hamas and to “finish the defeat” of the Palestinian Armed group.
The FDI also announced on Wednesday that the Givati brigade had resumed operations in the city in the north of Jabalia and on the outskirts of Gaza City, where it said that they “are disturbing military infrastructure above and below, eliminating the terrorists and consolidating operational control”.
He said civilians had been invited to move south for their safety “to mitigate the risk of damage.”
A spokesperson for the Civil Defense Agency led by Gaza, Mahmoud Bassal, said on Tuesday that the situation was “very dangerous and unbearable” in the Zeitoun and Sabra districts of the city, where he declared that “the bombardment continues intermittently”.
The agency said the Israeli strikes and fire killed 21 people in Gaza on Wednesday.
The Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that three children and their parents had been killed when a house in the SHATI refugee camp, west of Gaza City, has been bombed.

United Nations agencies and NGOs have warned of the humanitarian impact of a new offensive.
“The Israeli plan to intensify military operations in Gaza City will have a horrible humanitarian impact on people who are already exhausted, poorly fed, bereaved, moved and deprived of the basics necessary for survival,” they said in a joint statement on Monday.
“Forcing hundreds of thousands to move south is a recipe for more disaster and could be a forced transfer.”
They also said that the southern areas where displaced residents were to move were “overcrowded and poorly equipped to maintain human survival on a large scale”.
“Hospitals in the South operate several times on several occasions, and taking patients from the North would have fatal consequences.”
The Israeli army launched a campaign in Gaza in response to the attack by Hamas against southern Israel on October 7, 2023, during which around 1,200 people were killed and 251 others were taken hostage.
At least 62,122 people have been killed in Gaza since then, according to the Hamas Ministry of Hamas in the territory.
Most of the Gaza population has also been moved several times; It is estimated that more than 90% of the houses are damaged or destroyed; Health, water, sanitation and hygiene systems collapsed; And worldwide food security experts have warned that the “worst scenario of famine is currently taking place” due to food shortages.
