British Columbia and a tiny fishing village are now Atwitter after the richest man in the world has made an unexpected appearance this weekend.

Elon Musk, the controversial and now apparently political CEO of Tesla and X, addressed to Bella Bella – an isolated city nestled in the great tropical forest of the bear – before leaving again by helicopter.

His visit to the city with around 1,500 inhabitants was a surprise.

Local resident Seán Carter told Canadian Broadcasting Corporation that the region was not unrelated to high -level visitors.

He added that Musk was perhaps on the way to James Murdoch, son of the Rupert Murdoch media magnate, member of the board of directors in Tesla, where Musk is CEO and who owns a property outside the coast.

“It is not every day that the richest man in the world comes from the city,” he said. “It will be difficult to overcome.”
