John Deere struck layoffs in the middle of the silly prices of Trump

Donald Trump’s pricing policies generate billions of dollars for the federal government by sucking it from American companies through import rights. Some companies seem to feel downstream impacts of the new government’s unconventional policies, and this can even lead to job losses for the type of business that sells at the base of Trump.

John Deere, the tractor seller, recently announced a series of layoffs, but just before doing so, he had an unhappy profit call during which the leaders revealed that the company had seen a slowdown in profits. Part of this slowdown, the appeal seemed to suggest, could be credited with the climate of uncertainty created by the administration’s pricing regime. The reports of the monks’ register:

In its earnings report, the company noted that the prices of President Donald Trump had added to the misfortunes of agricultural equipment manufacturers who were already struggling with slow demand. Farmers choose to rent machines instead of buying. “The price uncertainty and the prices of deflated raw materials have made farmers increasingly cautious in spending decisions and hesitating more to accept higher machines prices,” said CFRA research analyst Jonathan Sakraida.

The new Republic reports that, during the recent call for results from the company, Cory Reed, president of the World Agriculture and Gazon Division of John Deere, noted that prices were a factor in purchasing decisions. “If you have customers who are concerned about what their final markets look like in a pricing environment, they are waiting to see the results of what these commercial transactions look like,” said Reed.

In other words, once again, the demography that Trump said he would help (workers and farmers) seem to be reduced by his policies. John Deere’s layoffs, which were announced on August 18, will have an impact on 71 workers from its Iowa foundry and 167 other workers in various places in Illinois, writes the register.

Although the side effects of Trump’s pricing regime have not been as apocalyptic as some analysts initially imagined it, the economy does not manage and owners of small businesses clearly feel the pain of the new economic order. Indeed, recent prosecution filed by small businesses against the Trump administration have questioned the very legal basis of its policies. As we pointed out earlier this month, if the prices are deemed illegal in a court, it is likely that the government will have to reimburse all this pricing income to the companies from which it comes. It would be a terrible humiliation for the White House, a logistics nightmare and a financial disaster for the federal government. In one way or another, it’s still a little funny to imagine that it happens.
