A notorious hacking gang known as the Spider dispersion has just lost one of its legs. A member of the criminal organization, the man of Florida, Noah Urban, was sentenced to ten years in prison by a federal judge in Jacksonville for the participation of Urban in dozens of hacking efforts which targeted individuals and businesses to steal the cryptocurrency, according to a Bloomberg report.

Urban, a 20 -year -old from Palm Coast, Florida, was arrested in 2024 and accused of wire fraud and aggravated identity theft, which he pleaded guilty earlier this year. Prosecutors allege that it was involved in the targeting and victimization of 29 victims of cryptocurrency and 13 companies. They also recovered approximately 2.9 million dollars in urban computer cryptocurrency, which was seized during a home raid in March 2023. The prosecutors said that Urban shares led to the loss of some $ 9.5 million and 25 million dollars of its victims, and it was ordered by the court to pay more than $ 13 million.

During his stay with Spourded Spider, Urban spent the alias “Sosa”, “Elijah” and “King Bob”. The prosecutors said that he and other members of the cybercrime gang had stolen identity documents from their victims and conducted phishing attacks to steal other skills titles that allowed them to access the cryptocurrency exchange accounts, to enclose and empty their portfolios.

According to Bloomberg, Urban’s lawyer argued that the 20 -year -old had made “very mediocre decisions in adolescence” and said that for the members of Spander Spider, the hacking was “a bit like a game for them, they worked together, conspired together to have access to these systems”. Although their victims at the time of their exploits have seemed to be faceless, the declaration of impact submitted to the court by the victims shows how real these hacks were for people. According to Bloomberg, the victims included a retired firefighter, people who lost access to their retirement funds and a person who said that the hackers stole their money put aside for FIV fertility treatments.

Urban was the first member of Spottered Spider to die for, but the group was a little in the reticle of the police. The group made its name known in 2023 after ransomware attacks on Las Vegas Casinos Caesars Entertainment and MGM Resorts which brought them millions of dollars. Earlier this year, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Safety Agency of the Ministry of Internal Security has published an opinion on the group, warning organizations that the group is known for data theft and extortion tactics.
