Airlines Delta and United continued to sell “window seats” without windows

Delta Air Lines and United Airlines were continued by passengers who claim to have been billed for a window seat but found themselves sitting next to an empty wall.

The proceedings, deposited separately against American carriers, are looking for millions of dollars in damages for more than a million customers of each airline.

They have said that companies do not report that the seats are windowless during the reservation process, even when they charge a bonus for them.

United refused to comment because it was a legal issue in progress. The BBC contacted Delta to comment.

The proceedings, which are also formulated, are looking for reimbursements of additional costs for passengers who said they had paid window seats but who had rather windows.

The two proceedings, which were seen by the BBC, were filed by the Legal Cabinet Greenbaum Olbrantz.

Complaints said that some Boeing and Airbus passenger planes had seats that have no windows due to the positioning of air conditioning, wiring or other components.

These seats are not reported by Delta and United during the reservation process, according to court documents.

The prosecution says that people buy window seats for various reasons, in particular by approaching the fear of theft and the evil of transport, keeping the children occupied or from the point of view.

Some passengers would not have chosen these seats – or paid more for them – if they knew they had no windows, according to complaints.

The two airlines describe each seat on the sides of their planes as a “window seat”, even when they know that some are not next to a window, depending on the documents.

Passengers can be billed more to select a window seat compared to a standard seat.

Lawyers representing each case described the practice as “deceptive” and “illegal”.

Other carriers, such as American Airlines and Alaska Airlines, exploit similar jets but disclose during the reservation process if a seat does not include a window, they added.
