South Korean and Japanase leaders agree to intensify cooperation

During their first summit on Saturday, South Korean President Lee Jae Myung and Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba stressed the need to overcome historical disputes and focus on shared challenges alongside their mutual ally, the United States. The two leaders promised cooperation on clean energy, artificial intelligence, demographic issues such as the drop in birth rates and aging populations, as well as disaster prevention. They also reaffirmed their commitment to work jointly and with Washington, towards stopping nuclear and missile programs in North Korea.
