The actions of the developer of the Orsted wind farm soon tumbled while trade launched Monday after the US government ordered the company to stop the construction of an almost completed project.
In the middle of the morning, the actions of the company were approximately 17% lower, the actions reaching a record level according to the LSEG data.
Friday, the American Oceanic Energy Management Bureau had issued a work prescription for the Revolution wind project off Rhode Island. According to Orsted, the project is 80% complete and 45 of the 65 wind turbines were installed.
The company also said that it would respect the American order and that it was considering options to solve the problem and advance construction.
The order comes at a critical time for Orsted, who seeks to raise essential capital in the context of the plans that suggested analysts were now under pressure.
Orsted announced plans for a Danish rights issue of 60 billion rights ($ 9.4 billion) earlier this month. On Monday, the company said that it would continue the proposal, noting that it had the support of its majority of stakeholders, the Danish state.
Actions have greatly fell since the announcement of rights issues.
In a note on Monday, Jacob Pedersen, head of research on actions in Sydbank, said that the potential financial consequences of the United States had led to uncertainty as to whether Orsted would be able to continue its capital recovery plans.
“The financial consequences of the working order will be at best the continuous costs of stopping work,” he said, according to a translation from Google. In the worst case, the Wind Project revolution would never provide electricity in the United States, he added.
“In this case, Orsted is faced with a billion two -digit tickets and significant additional costs to get out of contracts.
The one that the announcement on Monday of the company put forward his plans of rights problems suggested that he did not expect the worst result and expected that his Danish Kroner objective was sufficient.
“The evaluation of Orsted is positive – but it is not a guarantee that it will end up,” said Pedersen.
