Giant Giant VGW will withdraw from Canada to focus on the American market

The giant virtual competition worlds of the (VGW) confirmed that he would withdraw from Canada to focus on the United States this fall.
VGW, a parent company of Chumba Casino and Global Poker, will withdraw from the Canadian market from October 23. This will allow the company to focus on the more lucrative American market – despite more and more states prohibiting casino games. The players have already been informed of the upcoming change.
This occurs after VGW said $ 6.13 billion in world income and $ 491.6 million in profits at the end of the 2024/25 fiscal year on June 30, 2025.
“We can confirm that after a meticulous examination, we informed the players of a decision to eliminate our brands which offer products in Canada (Chumba Casino and Global Poker),” a spokesperson for VGW in Readwrite told Readwrite. “We understand that this is an adjustment after many years and our precious Canadian players can be disappointed.
“This decision was not taken lightly and we focus on the guarantee that players are fully informed of changes, and that this transition is as fluid as possible.
“In the end, this is a difficult but strategic and isolated decision. Our Canadian company is relatively small, because the vast majority of our players live on the largest American market, where we will concentrate our orientation, our resources and our investments in the future. ”
VGW in the United States
There are various legal obstacles to which VGWs are faced at the moment, with current prosecution and an announcement in May that the company would be in shock from drawing matches in New York, followed by ceased operations in New Jersey a few months later in July.
Such problems may be what the company wants to concentrate its “management objective, resources and investments” in the future. Legal battles and lobbying for support are expensive activities, which could be more easily prosecuted with funds freed from Canada.
