Howe drops Alexander Isak index after Leeds shoots with Newcastle still active in the transfer market

Newcastle remains occupied on the transfer market following the signing of the Nick Woltemade club-Record, manager Eddie Howe confirming that the Magpies pushed to bring at least one more player the deadline for transfer from Monday to 7 p.m.
While Newcastle focuses on potential additions, several outings could also be on the cards. Alexander Isak would have expressed the desire to leave, attracting the interests of Liverpool, while young members of the squad should go on loan.
Howe, however, does not engage directly with Isak on his situation and focuses on strengthening the team in the last days of the window.
Newcastle campaign started frustrating without an established attacker. The Magpies only collected two points of their first three Premier League matches, including 0-0 in draws at Aston Villa and Leeds United, and a 3-2 defeat against Liverpool in St James’ Park.
The absence of coherent attack options has only intensified speculation around Isak, which has not yet been this season.
On the attacker’s situation, Howe said: “I have no communication, no update for you. We are still trying to actively recruit, but I don’t know if that has a relationship with Alex’s situation.”
In the last 48 hours of the window, Howe added: “I will probably be on my phone 24/7.
“I would like to bring another player to give us the strength and the depth we need. I don’t know what this player looks like, and I will not give a position, but another signature would be ideal for the team.”
