Delhi Premier League 2025 Eliminator match between Western Delhi Lions And Super-South Delhi Superstarz broke out in chaos when the captain Nitish Rana and spinner Digvesh Rathi Engaged in a heated altercation on the ground which has sent shock waves through the cricket community. Now Rana has spoken of the incident, revealing its side of history while maintaining its position which it simply defended itself against provocation.

The dramatic confrontation occurred during the second rounds at the Arun Jaitley stadium on August 29, when tensions between the two players took place spectacularly. What started as tactical spirit games quickly turned into a ugly verbal birthday that required intervention by teammates and referees.

The incident took place during Rathi to Rathi when the leg spinner withdrew from his bowling stride while Rana was preparing for a stroke of the ball. Rana’s philosophy behind the fire

Rather than retreating from her actions, Rana doubled her approach, explaining her philosophy to never initiate confrontations but still standing for himself when he was provoked.

“”If someone puts me or puts me in my face, I am not someone who will sit down quietly. Because that’s how I have always played my cricket. If someone pushes me and they think they will take me out when I cause me, then I can also retaliate with six,Rana added.

The Captain of Western Delhi Lions stressed that his education had shaped his style of confrontation, noting: “My parents taught me that if you are not wrong, then you should defend yourself and that’s exactly what I do, and I will continue to do it in the future too“.

He also clarified his position by declaring that “Whoever starts is in their hands to end it. I have been in many fights so far, it is not as if I have not done so. But until today, I have never initiated anything“.

The incident had significant consequences for the two players, officials of the Premier League of Delhi imposing heavy fines. Rathi received harder punishment, losing 80% of his match costs for driving unlike the spirit of the game, while Rana was sentenced to a fine of 50% of her match fees for having used obscene, offensive or insulting gestures during the match. Additional penalties were also imposed on the other players involved in separate altercations during the same match.

Despite the controversy, Rana channeled its aggression in a phenomenal performance, marking 134 undefeated on only 55 balls with 15 six to help the Lions of Western Delhi to continue the target of 202 with seven counters and 17 balls to lose. This explosive round has not only won the victory, but also propelled its team to the final, where they will face Kings from the center of Delhi August 31.
