The Social Gaming Leadership Alliance (SGLA) is back and requests a rejection of Bill 831 of the Assembly. This occurs while the California Senate should hear the bill, which focuses on the ban on competition casinos, after being placed in the suspension file.

In a new press release, the SGLA quotes a new investigation according to which it calls a “national survey with an overchanting of samples of Californian voters”, while reiterating its points from the previous reports on the potential prohibition of the competition casinos.

The survey is partly produced by SGLA and demands a positive perspective on social casinos, with an overwhelming majority of people asked, 89%, agreeing that “the games should continue to work”.

However, there are concerns about how investigation questions are supervised, especially in the way in which the competition casinos are compared to video games. For example, games like Candy Crush and Fortnite do not attribute monetary prices. Instead, they provide rewards related to players’ actions. One of the questions can be read as follows:

“What is your opinion on online social games or games where users can win prizes without making games in play, such as Candy Crush or Fortnite?”

This raises questions of comparability. The competition casinos are designed around a chance -based gameplay that simulates Casino’s environments, while titles such as Fortnite and Candy Crush, although they can include random elements, are mainly based on skills.

Rather, the reference can be made to purchases in part at stake, such as cosmetic skins or articles. However, these are not “prices” in the traditional sense, but rather products bought directly by the player.

Sgla “disappointed” of current status AB 831

Speaking in the press release, Jeff Duncan, executive director of the social gaming leadership alliance, said:

“The SGLA is extremely disappointed that the Senate credit committee has decided to advance AB831 to listen to the Californian tribal countries which oppose the bill, the legitimate California companies which will be threatened with criminal responsibility to provide routine services, Californian constituents who love games.”

The bill has been adopted unanimously unanimously so far, with each vote in favor, and has the support and opposition of tribal leaders in the state. However, it was until September 12 to pass, or it will be bite to a future date.
