Tesla struck with another major reminder

Tesla recalls 7,301 SUVs Y Products in 2025, after identifying a software defect in the automatic protection system of the driver’s side window.
The recall, issued by the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sports and the Arts of Australia, warns that the window can end with excessive force if it does not detect obstructions, pose a risk of injury.
The latest reminder is a perfect example of the double edge of automotive digitization, because if the software allows rapid remote corrections, it also introduces new layers of vulnerability.
The owners and users are also worried about the frequency of reminders focused on Tesla software in Australia highlights the need for ever greater quality insurance in EV systems.
What do you do if your Tesla is recalled?
The owners of vehicles concerned will receive notifications and can expect a live software update (OTA), eliminating the need for dealership visits. Cars that already run the version version 2025.26.6 or more recent are not affected.
This recall reflects a similar action in the United States in 2022, which involved more than 1.1 million teslas, including models of the 3 model and the S model, on an automatic window safety problem.
In March 2025, Tesla also recalled nearly 300 model Y vehicles and model 3 in Australia due to a potential electrical loss, marking this as the second major recall of the year.
Since 2021, Tesla has published 17 reminders in Australia – most from software seeds rather than hardware defects – clarifying the growing importance and complexity of digital systems in modern vehicles.
