Israel committing genocide in Gaza, say the main experts in the world

The main global association of researchers in genocide said that Israel commits a genocide in Gaza.
A resolution adopted by the International Association of Genocide Specialists (IAGS) declares that the conduct of Israel responds to the legal definition as presented in the United Nations Convention on the Genocide.
In a three -page resolution, IAGS presents a litany of actions undertaken by Israel throughout the 22 -month war which he recognizes as a constituent of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity.
IAGS is the largest professional association in the world of researchers in genocide and includes a number of Holocaust experts. Of its 500 members, 28% participated in the vote and 86% of those who voted supported the resolution.
In a summary of Israeli policies and actions, the Declaration notes widespread attacks on staff and the facilities necessary for survival, including in the health, aid and education sectors.
Among many other elements, he notes the 50,000 children killed or injured by Israel, as the organization of UNicef aid underlines, which has an impact on the capacity of the Palestinians in Gaza to survive as a group and regenerate.
The resolution also highlights the support of Israeli leaders for the forced expulsion of all the Palestinians of Gaza, alongside the almost total demolition of Israel of housing in the territory.
IAGS notes the declarations of Israeli leaders dehumanizing the Palestinians in Gaza, characterizing them all as the enemy, alongside “flattening Gaza” and transforming it into “hell”.
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the report was based on “lies of Hamas” and bad research, calling it “embarrassment to the legal profession”. A spokesperson added that it was Israel himself who is the victim of genocide.
Israel has regularly denied that its actions in Gaza represent a genocide and says that they are justified as a means of self -defense.
IAGS scholars say that, even if the October 7, 2023 attack in Hamas – in which around 1,200 people were killed and 251 other people were hostage – was in itself a crime, Israel’s response was not only directed against Hamas, but targeted the entire Gaza population.
The 1948 United Nations Convention of the United Nations, which was adopted following the mass murder of the Jews by Nazi Germany, defines genocide as crimes committed “with the intention of destroying, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group”.
A certain number of rights defense organizations, including two Israeli organizations, have also said that they thought that Israel commits a genocide.
The UN and a certain number of Western nations have declared that they would consider only a decision of a court that the genocide takes place as authority.
The UN head court, the International Court of Justice, is currently considering a matter carried by South Africa in 2023 which maintains that Israel commits a genocide. The CIJ has not yet made a decision on the subject and granted Israel an extension before January 2026 to present its defense.
Israel accused the case of having anti -Semitic motivations, appealing it a “blood defamation”, in reference to the historical allegations according to which the Jewish communities ritually assassinate Christian children.
IAGS affirms that their resolution has no impact on any case presented to an international tribunal.
On Monday, the Ministry of Health managed by Hamas said that 63,557 people had been killed and 160,660 wounded during the war so far. The number of the ministry is widely considered reliable, but they are not distinguished between civilians and combatants.
In August, the food instructor supported by the UN, the IPC, confirmed that famine took place in parts of Gaza. Israel is accused of having caused famine by ongoing restrictions on food and medical aid entering Gaza.
Israel controls all border passages in the Gaza Strip and, like the occupying power, it is responsible for the protection of civil life under international law, which includes the prevention of famine.
