A new trailer for “bugonia” is heavy in this extraterrestrial question

It was last summer that focus features announced BugoniaThe latest film by director Yorgos Lanthimos. This alone is enough to excite someone, because Lanthimos has long established itself as a filmmaker whose work you are, whatever happens. But then, the film had this slogan, and instantly, we were hung: “Two young men obsessed with the plot kidnap the great power of a large company, convinced that it is a strange intention to destroy the planet Earth.” Yes, please, and thank you.
Written by Will Tracy, based on a 2003 South Korean film called Save the green planet, Bugonia Put a star Emma Stone as CEO and Jesse Plemons and Aidan Delbis like plot nuts. It opens in limited version on October 24 before spreading widely on October 31. And although we have seen several trailers so far, as well as certain mainly stellar criticisms, the latter is based strongly on this very intriguing issue. Is Emma Stone an extraterrestrial?
We love rehearsal in this trailer, as well as catchy beats of Chappell Roan, which were also used in the previous one. But it is this end, where we are forcing Stone to say the words he wants to hear, it really makes us. It doesn’t just talk about the mystery of the film, but he also talks about life as we know it these days. A world where people believe what they want to believe, whatever happens, and live to be validated, even if it is not true. Do the Plemons care even if it is actually an extraterrestrial? Or does he just want her to say it?
You should think that this is one of the major reasons why Lanthimos wants to approach this subject. This idea, which comes over 20 years ago, feels so relevant as ever. Then you launch a double winner of Oscar in the main role, in front of an actor who is sure to have an Oscar before a long time, and you really have something of cooking.
Tickets for Bugonia are on sale now. Are you going to check it?
