A 17 -year -old suspect was arrested after three people were killed in New York Times Square in the early hours of Saturday.

The shots sounded around 01:20 HA (05:20 GMT) at West 44th Street and Seventh Avenue, below the imposing display panels in one of the most frequent tourist hot spots in the world.

The teenager was not appointed by the police and accusations were pending.

The shooting comes three months before the elections of the mayor of New York, and as President Donald Trump sends federal agents to the streets of Washington DC to repress the crimes committed by young people.

The shooting of Times Square broke out during a fight outside a cane chicken restaurant to be raised.

It follows from a dispute, according to the New York police department. A handgun has been recovered on the scene.

Police say a 19 -year -old man was shot down, a 65 -year -old man was hit in the left leg and an 18 -year -old woman was collapsed in the neck.

They were all admitted to the hospital in a stable state.

According to New York police, the city has experienced historically low levels of armed violence in recent months.

Trump on Friday, Trump ordered federal agents in the streets of Washington DC to curb crime levels “completely out of control”.

The Washington DC homicide rate remains relatively high compared to other American cities, with a total of 98 of these murders recorded so far this year. Homicides tend to be higher in the American capital a decade ago.

But the federal data in January show that Washington DC has recorded its lowest overall overall crimes – once the car, assault and flights are incorporated – in 30 years.

Trump announced on Saturday on Trump on Truth Social to organize a press conference at the White House on Monday, “which, essentially, will stop violent crimes in Washington, DC”.
