Always the best non-Dés game smart glasses

It is never ideal being the second largest number in the world, but there are also worse places. The same goes for Ray-Ban Meta Ai Gen 2 glasses, which were the second most exciting thing that Meta announced at Meta Connect this month. The first opinion, if it is popular, is an indication, is the Meta Ray-Ban display which, as you may have already gathered, has a screen inside.

But even if the Ray-Ban Meta-Gen 2 (from $ 379) is the second pair of smart glasses the most exciting to get out of the connection, they can always be the greatest thing, and in my opinion, they are. These are the best pair of Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses that you can buy without screen. Period.

Ray-Ban Meta Ai Gendes Gen 2

The Ray-Ban Meta AI Gen 2 glasses are not exciting but they are better than the original.

  • 3K video recording
  • Longer battery life
  • Meta Ai is always the same / disorderly
  • The photos still have not obtained an upgrade
  • No speakers update

I have already covered this several times, so I will keep it brief; The biggest updates of the Ray-Ban Meta-Gen 2 are the lifespan and video of the battery. The size (apart from 2 grams of additional weight in generation 2) is the same, there are all the same characteristics as the original, and the speakers and the microphones are all reported.

The battery life, however, is now classified for double, which, in this case, is equivalent to around 8 hours of general use. The load box is also bumping from 32 hours to 48 hours. The increase in battery in smart glasses is thanks to what Meta calls “Ultra-Narrow Steelcan” batteries-the same she puts in the Meta Ray-Ban display, her smart glasses with a screen. On the video side, this increases the maximum resolution of the recording to 3K and also introduces an option of 60 IPS, although this will only be available if you save in 1080p. Unfortunately, for all those who are more interested in fixed photos, the sensors are the same this generation. It is 12 megapixels with a maximum resolution of 3,024 x 4,032.

It may not seem much, but you cannot really underestimate the importance of the lifespan and battery videos in a pair of intelligent glasses-these are large enough for any device that dares to encroach on the territory of the phone. More importantly, however, what the videos look like and if the battery life is really as announced. On this front, Meta delivers mainly.

I often use my first generation meta Ray-Ban to record the video while I have a bicycle, because recording with your phone in one hand while you are on a bike in New York is a kind of death of death. Here is a comparison side by side of a motionless frame drawn from the maximum video 1080p of Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1 compared to an image of the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2. As you can see in the screenshot on the right, the Ray-Ban 2 meta-generation. was less blurred, which is to be expected with the increase in resolution.

According to my experience, improved details of image quality are quite noticeable. Where some edges were blurred and a little too smooth, the videos recorded in 3K feel like a more precise slice of life. It will not be important for everyone (many people will simply take photos), but if you are like me and want to capture beautiful foliage during a bike ride, the upgrade is welcome.

There is another aspect to the video upgrade, 60 IPS, which I would have liked to test you, but unfortunately, it is not yet available. According to a Meta representative, 60 IPS takes place in a software update for Ray-Ban Gen 2 on October 1, coinciding with the release of the smart glasses Oakley Meta Vanguard. I will update this opinion once my examination unit will have the 60 IPS option.

And the battery?

Thus, the other large piece of the puzzle is the battery. Although it is not as easy to test as shooting videos, I did my best to use the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 as long as possible. The verdict here is that, although you cannot promise full 8 hours, you get much more battery than generation 1.

As is the case with any gadget, the battery life will largely depend not only on density or size, but also on your use. One thing I like to do with first generation Meta Ai Ray-Ban glasses is to use them as open headphones, and I think many people who have them agree. The speakers are the same here, so there are no upgrades in loyalty, but I wanted to test the mileage with regard to audio. Listening to a podcast and finally a live radio program (Buffalo Bills Sports Talk Radio in case someone wanted to know), I was able to spend about 5 hours, which raped the battery from 100% to around 15%. The volume was quite strong, however (a metric that affects the battery life), because I listened in a crowded cafe and had to dominate music and chat them. It is not the 8 hours promised by Meta, but it is also an improvement compared to first generation intelligent glasses, which generally expire completely after about 3 to 4 hours for audio streaming.

This is not news worthy of a gold medal, but once again, your battery will depend on what you do with the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2. My second favorite use of the smart glasses Ray-Ban Meta Ai takes calls with them. I jumped on a call with my mother, which lasted 32 minutes at full volume, and the smart glasses barely taken a hit, in terms of battery. I started 100% and after more than 30 minutes of conversation, they were 96%. Again, your mileage here will vary depending on what you do. Take a lot of 3K video? Well, you can expect the Meta-Banal Gen 2 to die earlier. Use them intermittently for audio and calls? You could get closer to the 8 hours announced from the battery life.

One thing is certain: the battery certainly Gets more juice, which should be welcome for anyone who is tired of having to burst his smart glasses in the just case so that they can listen to music while they were walking. The way this battery will keep the Meta-Ray-Ban screen is the supposition of anyone, but it is certainly the best battery of a pair of Meta Ai Ray-Ban-Ban Glasses.

Should you upgrade?

These are the two main arenas where you will see improvements in generation, so if you have the impression that you want higher videos or that you really aspire to more battery life, Ray-Ban Meta-Gen 2 should be on your radar. If you agree with the way your intelligent glasses work in these areas, I don’t see a reason to rush and pick up a new pair. Whether you like the updates or not, however, it is always the best pair of Ray-Ban Meta Ai non-non-delicate glasses that you can buy, even if I would have liked to see substantial improvements to things like Meta Ai, which is still capricious at best. The photos could also have used an update, but you will have to keep waiting for this.

As for connectivity with other applications, things are also the same. Spotify is I use the most, and it works well most time. Meta’s vocal assistant nails your simple order most of the time (like jumping this song or playing and taking a break), but asking him to play specific songs or artists can be struck and missed. What is also the same thing is the fact that messaging and calls are always limited. There is no direct integration with iOS and Android, so if you want to call or send SMS with your smart glasses via the voice assistant, you will have to link your Instagram or WhatsApp. For some people, it will be good, but for others who do not use these platforms, it may be a dealbreaker.

Oh, and the Meta AI application unfortunately likes to promote AI Sol. And although it works well for the transfer and storage of photos and videos of your intelligent glasses, I always want it not to close an LLM (large language model) in there.

As is the case with one of Meta’s products, you will have to agree that you will not always get the best protections in terms of personal privacy. As I pointed out previously, Meta has a fairly bad balance on this forehead, so if Meta’s idea uses photos and videos you take using the “Hey, Meta” function to train its Skeeves IA, you would better avoid the Ray-Ban intelligent glasses.

Second generation glasses are not revolutionary, but they are improved. And for all those who are not willing to spend $ 800 on the Meta-Ray-Ban screen, the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 is probably the only smart Ray-Ban intelligent glasses that deserve to be purchased.
