An attack shooting at the Bus stop in Jerusalem kills 6 people

The Palestinian attackers opened fire on people during a bus stop at morning rush hour in Jerusalem on Monday, killing six people and injuring 12 others, according to Israeli officials.
An Israeli soldier and civilians who were on the scene killed the two attackers, police said. The windshield of a bus was riddled with bullet holes and the personal effects were dispersed in the street.
Images of the attack showed that dozens of people fleeing a bus stop at the animated intersection at the northern entrance of Jerusalem, on a road which leads to Jewish colonies located in East Jerusalem. The paramedical paramedics who responded to the scene said that the region was chaotic and covered with broken glass, with injured and unconscious people on the road and a sidewalk near the bus stop.
The ambulance service of Israel identified five of the victims as a 50 -year -old man, a woman in their fifties and three men in their thirties.
The Israeli Foreign Affairs Minister Gideon Sa’ar later said that a sixth person died and that the armed men were Palestinians from the West Bank occupied by Israeli.
Netanyahu visits the scene
Hundreds of security forces have arrived at the scene to search for attackers or additional explosives who could have been planted in the region. The Israeli army said it surrounded the Palestinian villages on the outskirts of the nearby city of Ramallah’s West Bank as it intensifies the defense in response to the attack.
Hamas in a press release described the attack on “natural response to the crimes of the occupation against our people”.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the premises of the attack and was seen on video speaking at the first speakers.
He warned that Israel “fights a war on several fronts”, notably Gaza, the West Bank and Israel. Netanyahu also praised the soldier who killed the attacker, who was of a newly formed unit for ultra-Orthodox soldiers.
The almost two -year war in Gaza sparked a wave of violence in the West Bank occupied by Israeli and Israel.
The soldiers of Israel calls the super target residential buildings, chosen because they say that they house Hamas infrastructure, that Hamas denies, and because they are large enough to send an undoubted message to civilians: go out, before the operation is developing.
The data from the UN humanitarian office indicate that at least 49 Israelis were killed by Palestinians in Israel or the West Bank between the start of the war and in July 2025. At that time, Israeli and civilians killed at least 968 Palestinians in Israel and West Bank.
Although there have been attacks dispersed in recent months in Israel, the last fatal attack on mass shooting took place in October 2024, when two Palestinians from the West Bank opened fire on a large boulevard and a light train station in the Tel Aviv region, killing seven people and leaving many other injured. The Hamas military wing claimed this attack.
