An eminent ex-Indian PM is sentenced to perpetuity for rape

A court in southern India sentenced an eminent politician to prison in the state of Karnataka for having raped one of his domestic staff.

The conviction of Prajwal Revanna, who came from an influential state political family, took place on Saturday – one day after being found guilty of sexual assault on his former employee.

The allegations against the 34 -year -old former Indian MP was revealed for the first time in 2023 after hundreds of explicit videos showing him in social networks, causing indignation across the country.
